Videography Internship: 2013-2014 Season

Videography Internship       

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Gain valuable real world experience outside of the classroom through the Komets Videography Internship program. The ideal candidate will earn hands on experience by creating original content to be used by the Komet organization in all aspects of video presentation including but not limited to in-game video board segments, social media, & television spots.

 DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Knowledge and ability to create, organize, write and direct videos
  • Phone etiquette  
  • Experience with video editing software
  • Customer service skills
  • Understanding the importance of group work as well as individual work

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • On location shooting
  • Sound mixing
  • Video editing
  • Customer Service
  • Freelancing

 By the end of this internship the trainee will have learned to:

  • Have a fuller understanding of the industry and customer knowledge
  • Compile a portfolio of completed projects at the end of the internship  

The position will run from October 2013 thru the end of the Komets season (approximately April/May 2014).

This position is open to students enrolled at any college or university or a graduate looking for real world experience. The students’ interests must lie in communications, film studies, digital media, or video.   While this is an UNPAID internship, student interns will have an opportunity to receive college credit. Contact your undergraduate advising officer for more information on academic credit.

Marketing/Promotions/Game-Operations Internship
 
The Fort Wayne Komet Hockey Club is currently seeking college students for our Marketing/Promotions/Game-Operations Internship Positions during the 2013-14 season.  Resumes will be accepted through August for the 2013-2014 season. 

Our Internship Program is designed to provide exposure and experience on how a minor league sport organization operates.  The emphasis of the program is to provide significant experience in the areas of marketing, promotions, public relations, and game operations.

HOURS REQUIRED:
20-25 hours per week (average)
September/October 2013 thru April/May 2014
Summer internship positions are NOT available

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
This position is open to students enrolled at any college or university or a graduate looking for real world experience.  Interested individuals must possess superior organizational skills, be able to function in a fast-paced, multi-task environment, and have exceptional time management abilities.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are required as well as basic computer skills. While this is an UNPAID internship, student interns will have an opportunity to receive college credit. Contact your undergraduate advising officer for more information on academic credit.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate in-game promotions such as advertisements, contests, and fan interaction areas from start to finish.  Prepare and participate in outside promotional events.  Distribute promotional materials throughout Fort Wayne & surrounding areas.
