Komets pinch Mudbugs 2-1
Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011 --  The Komets outlasted the Mudbugs Saturday night taking a 2-1 win and two-game sweep of the weekend series at Bossier-Shreveport.

After a scorless first period both teams battled without finding the net in the second period until
defenseman Dustin Molle finally solved Mudbug goaltender John DeCaro at 14:19 for his first goal as a Komet.  Bossier-Shreveport didn't take long to answer as David Rutherford netted a power play tally for the Mudbugs 57 seconds later and sent the game into the second intermission knotted at 1-1.  22 seconds into the third frame winger Tab Lardner scored the eventual game winner giving the Komets their sixth-straight road win.  Right wing Derek Patrosso assisted on each Fort Wayne goal and extended his point and assist streak to six games (1 goal, 10 assists).

Kevin Reiter earned his second straight win in his third straight Fort Wayne start stopping 29 of 30 shots while DeCaro suffered his eighth loss of the year making 20 saves.

The Komets will complete their three-game weekend southern tour with a 5pm ET faceoff Sunday against the Texas Brahmas at the NYTEX Sports Centre in North Richland Hills, Texas.  -lineups-

The Komets will travel back to Fort Wayne Monday and get ready to host the Wichita Thunder in a home double-header Friday, Feb. 4 at 8pm and Saturday, Feb. 5 at 7:30pm.
