Fort Wayne, IN --The
visiting Evansville IceMen cooled the Komets 3-1 Friday
night at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne before
7,337. The Komet's six-game point streak ended as the
K's did not pick up a point for the first time since
Dec. 18. However, it was the first win for
Evansville since Dec. 22 snapping a six-game IceMen
winless streak.

After a scoreless first
period, Evansville netted three unanswered goals in the
second period on shots by Mario Larocque
(PPG), Jordan Little and Brian Bicek (SHG). The Komets
rallied for a power play marker in the third frame when
defenseman Guy Dupuis scored his second goal of the
season for the only tally of the period for a three-game
point-scoring streak (1 goal, 2 assists).
Komet goalie Kevin Reiter registered his seventh loss in
his 13th appearance making 22 saves on 25 shots.
Netminder Jeff Harvey earned the win in his first
appearance with Evansville stopping 26 shots.
Fort Wayne falls to 9-16-3 while Evansville improves to
11-18-5.
The Komets skate at Dayton Saturday night at 7:30 before
returning to Fort Wayne for the first Sunday matinee of
the year against the Quad City Mallards at 5pm.
