Fort Wayne, IN
— The Komets head into week six of 2009-10 on a .700 clip with a
7-3-0-0 record, identical to last season's status after the
first 10 games.
This past weekend the Komets took two out of three games and
four points in contests that all were decided by 2-1 scores.
Friday the Komets clipped the visiting Quad City Mallards before
nipping the Dayton Gems in overtime Saturday on Coliseum ice.
Sunday the Komets' four-game winning streak was snapped at
Muskegon.
Komets/Jacks rematch in Fort Wayne Friday.....this Friday
the Muskegon Lumberjacks (8-3-0-1) make their second of six
visits for an 8pm faceoff. It will be a chance for the
Komets to avenge their 2-1 loss Sunday at Walker Arena.
Friday's game will be the third of 11 meetings this season with
the series tied 1-1. While Muskegon stopped the Komets'
win string at four games they extended their winning streak to
five games. The Komets were the last team to beat Muskegon
in regulation on Halloween night in Fort Wayne. The
Lumberjacks will host Port Huron Wednesday before traveling to
Fort Wayne Friday.

this weekend. Saturday the PrairieThunder welcome the
Komets to the U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, Illinois
for a 8:05pm (Fort Wayne time) faceoff. The season series
is tied 1-1 after the Komets dropped a 5-4 decision in the last
meeting with the Thunder Oct. 30 at Bloomington. Going

(8-3-0-2). The Thunder are 3-1-1 in their last five games
and are idle this week until Fort Wayne visits Saturday.

iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois. The Komets lead the
series 2-0-0-0 after clipping the Mallards in Fort Wayne 2-1
Friday night. Quad City (2-6-1-0) finished last week with
a 4-3 shootout win Sunday for their first home game of the
season, and first win in eight games after winning the season
opener. Quad City skates at Port Huron Friday and Muskegon
Saturday before returning home to host the Komets at 5:05pm
(Fort Wayne time) Sunday.
Haun named IHL Goaltender of the Week.....Tim Haun

goals-against average allowing only four goals in three games
and stopping 56 of 60 shots for a .933 save percentage.
Haun jumped to the top of the IHL goaltender rankings with an
overall goals-against average of 2.14 after six appearances.
The Solsgirth, Manitoba native earned the weekly honor twice
last season and was the IHL's Goaltender of the Month for
December, 2008.
$10,000 richer for being a Komet Fan.....Churubusco
resident Jeff Bonar became the first Komet fan to win the
$10,000 prize for correctly guessing the score at the end of
each period of the Komet home game Friday night.
After
registering online at
www.komets.com, Bonar correctly guessed that the Komets
would lead 1-0 at the end of the first period, 2-1 at the end of
the second, and 2-1 at the end of the third. By correctly
predicting the scores at the end of each period Bonar collected
$10,000 courtesy of Fort Wayne area Jeep and Chrysler Dealers in
