— The Komets announced Tuesday that single game tickets for
2009-10 will go on sale Thursday, September 24, at 10AM at the
Coliseum Ticket Office and online at
www.Ticketmaster.com. Tickets for all 38 Komet regular
season games and two exhibition home games will go on sale.
Ticket prices for 2009-10 will remain the same as last
season, ranging from $8.00 to $20.00 for seniors and adults and
starting at $6.00 for children.
Season tickets,
at a savings over walk-up prices, are still on sale at the Komet office at 1010 Memorial Way in Fort Wayne.
Season ticket packages include all 38 regular season home games
and two pre-season games. For

Training camp gets underway Monday, Oct. 5 at the Memorial
Coliseum with practices twice each day thru Friday, Oct. 9.
In addition there will be a couple intra-squad scrimmages during
the week.
The Komets
will host two preseason games at the Memorial Coliseum.
Wednesday, Oct. 7, the Dayton Gems will visit for a 7:30PM
preseason tuneup. Friday, Oct. 9, the Komets will host the
Muskegon Lumberjacks at 8PM in the first of a home-and-home
exhibition series. The Komets will travel to Muskegon to
face the 'Jacks Saturday night, Oct. 10, at Walker Arena at 7pm.
The Komets will open the
2009-10
schedule on the road at Dayton Friday, Oct.
16. The Komets' 58th home opener will be Friday, Oct. 23
against the Bloomington PrairieThunder at 8pm.
Media note.....the Komets will have their annual
press luncheon to open training camp Monday, Oct. 5 at noon at
the Coliseum. More details of the press luncheon and
training camp will be released during the week of Sep. 28.
Komets add two more to camp....The Komets also
announced Tuesday the addition of two players to the preseason
roster. Netminder Tyler Sims and forward Michael Uvodich
have agreed to terms and have been invited to the Komet training
camp.
Sims, son of Komet head coach Al Sims, will be entering his
second full season as a pro after skating four seasons of NCAA
play with Providence College. Tyler Sims appeared in 14
games with the CHL's Mississippi RiverKings last year
registering a 9-5-0 record and 2.66 goals-against average.
The rookie goalie helped Mississippi win the Northeast Division
title and advance to the CHL semi-finals.
Tyler Sims, 23, was born in West Berlin, Germany, while his
father played defense for Berlin in the Germany elite league.
Tyler Sims arrived in Fort Wayne at the age of three when his
father returned to the states to skate his final pro season with
the Komets in 1988-89. Prior to the Komet training camp,
Tyler Sims will attend the AHL's Chicago Wolves camp.
Uvodich, 22, will be attending the Komets' 2009 training camp as an
invitee from the AAHA's Evansville Ice Men. He is the
third member of the Ice Men to be invited to the Komet camp.
Uvodich skated last year with Evansville scoring 23 goals and 36
points in 32 games.
The addition of Sims and Uvodich boosts the Komet
preseason roster
to 32 players including 18 forwards, 10 defensemen and four
goaltenders.
