Boucher, Thomas, O'Connor honored

— The International Hockey League announced Monday that all
three weekly player honors were awarded to
Fort Wayne for the week ending April 11, 2010.
Goaltender of the Week......Nick Boucher received
his third IHL Goaltender of the Week award of the season.
Boucher, 29, earned wins in all four games of the week to extend
his win streak to five straight games. The Leduc, Alberta
native stopped 117 of 127 shots for a 2.50 goals-against average
and .921 save percentage for the week. In addition,
Boucher registered his third shutout of the season and sixth
Fort Wayne career shutout 3-0 over league-leader Muskegon
Wednesday making 27 saves and stopping all six Lumberjack power
plays.
Boucher ranks second in the IHL to teammate Tim Haun with a 2.15
goals-against average and .921 save percentage in 37
appearances.
Player of the Week.....Leo Thomas snagged his
first weekly honor of the season and as a Komet with the Player
of the Week award. The Toronto, Ontario native scored four
goals and added four assists for an eight-point week and posted
a plus-seven.
Thomas, 28, had points in each game for a four-game
point-scoring streak and finished the week on a streak of three
straight multi-point games. The center also scored his
first hat trick as a Komet, including the game winner, netting
three goals Saturday against Dayton in a 5-2 win. Thomas
enters the final week of the season leading the Komets with 33
goals and six game winning tallies.
Rookie of the Week.....Sean O'Connor earned Rookie
of the Week honors for the second time this season scoring four
goals and one assist for five points and posted a plus-five in
four games. The right winger registered a three-point night (2 goals, 1 assist) Saturday
in a 5-2 win at Dayton.
O'Connor, 23, completed the week with a three-game goal and
point-scoring streak. The Brownstown, Michigan native
leads Fort Wayne rookies with 23 goals and 51 points.
