Fort Wayne, IN
— The Komets only had one game scheduled last week, a 1-0
setback at Muskegon Friday. It was the first Fort Wayne
regulation loss in 10 games and most Komet streaks were ended
including a six-game win streak. P.C. Drouin had a
six-game point streak and four-game goal scoring streak snapped.
Konstantin Shafranov ended a five-game point streak while Colin
Chaulk and Leo Thomas each had three-game point streaks halted.
Goalie Tim Haun continues with a seven-game unbeaten streak
(6-0-0-1) and five-game win streak going into week 16 and the
Komets maintain a five-game home win string.
The Komets get back into action with three games slated for week
16. The week starts with a trip to Port Huron Tuesday for a 7pm faceoff.
The Icehawks (27-9-0-3) are in a first-place battle with
Muskegon, trailing the Lumberjacks by two points and leading the
third-place Komets (23-12-0-2) by nine points. Port Huron
is 3-1-0-1 in their last five games after winning their last two
outings. Tuesday's game is the third of five meetings at
McMorran Arena where the Komets are winless so far this season.
The Komets return home to host the Quad City Mallards Friday at
8pm after an 11-day home break for the Circus at the Coliseum.
The Komets grounded the Mallards in their last home game before
the Circus 5-3 and lead the series 6-0-0-1. The Mallards
host Flint Wednesday before making their fifth of eight trips to
Fort Wayne Friday.
The Komets complete the week with a return trip to Port Huron
Sunday for a 5pm matinee.
