Fort Wayne, IN — The Fort Wayne Komets completed week
three of the 2008-09 campaign on top of the IHL with a 5-1-0-0
record for 10 points after splitting the two games played last
week.
In review of last week's action, the Komets crushed the visiting
Kalamazoo Wings 5-1 Friday for their fifth straight win to start
the season. Saturday night the Komets traveled to
Bloomington and suffered their first defeat of the season 5-4.
The Komets' 5-1-0-0 start is the best since 2001-02 when they
posted six straight wins before a loss.
The Komets will skate two games
this week. Friday the Komets visit the Lumberjacks at Muskegon at 7:00pm.
It will be the first of 15 meetings this season between the
Komets and Jacks. Muskegon has six points for fourth place
in the IHL after a 3-2-0-0 start. Former Komet Bruce
Ramsey is in his third straight season as Muskegon's head coach.

the race for first place in the IHL. The Komets will have
