Komets Training Camp begins Monday with noon Press Luncheon

Fort Wayne, IN — The Komets' 2008-09 Training Camp gets underway Monday,
Oct. 6 at noon with a press luncheon in the Red Room of the Memorial Coliseum in
Fort Wayne. All Fort Wayne area media are invited to attend.
Currently the Komet's 2008-09 roster
holds 28 players including 15 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders.
Training camp will be held for two weeks and includes three exhibition games
for the Komets. The Komets will host Bloomington in preseason action Wednesday,
Oct. 8 at 7:30pm. The Komets will travel to Kalamazoo for the first of a
home-and-home preseason series at Wings Stadium Friday, Oct. 10 at 7:30pm. The
Komets return to Fort Wayne to host Kalamazoo Saturday, Oct. 11 at 7:30pm in the
final tune-up of the 2008-09 preseason.
A complete training camp schedule will be released at the luncheon Monday.
The Komets will start the 2008-09 season on the road at Port Huron Friday,
Oct. 17 before the Fort Wayne home opener Saturday, Oct. 18 against the Flint
Generals at 7:30pm.

Boucher,
Beckett, Osman, Legault, Curadeau update......goaltender Nick Boucher,
defenseman Jason Beckett, right winger Dominic Osman, left winger Olivier
Legault and center Mathieu Curadeau have all been participating in AHL training
camps over the past couple weeks.
Boucher and Beckett have been skating in the Norfolk camp. Boucher has been
released and is expected to return to Fort Wayne today. Beckett is on a two-way
AHL/IHL contract and has been assigned to Fort Wayne and will be in the Komet
camp when it begins on Monday.
Three players on the Komets' roster remain in AHL camps. Osman continues to
participate in Worcester's camp. Legault is enjoying an invitation to the Lake
Erie camp while Curadeau remains in Norfolk's training camp. |
