Komets week in review
Komets finish week 7 in second place, hit the road for 3 this weekend

Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets completed week 7 of the 2007-08 IHL campaign taking one point in 2 games played and begin week 8 in second place with a 9-4-2-1 record for 21 points.    -IHL Standings-

Friday night the Komets dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the visiting Port Huron IceHawks. It was the first Fort Wayne regular season overtime loss since March 11, 1990 when the Komets were clipped 5-4 by Kalamazoo. Friday night marked the 4500th Komet franchise game (regular season and playoffs) since the team's inaugural 1952-53 season in Fort Wayne.

Saturday the Komets suffered a 4-3 loss to Bloomington in the second of a home double-header weekend. It's only the second time this season the Komets were winless in back-to-back games and it was goaltender Nick Boucher's first regulation loss of the season.

Komets on the road for 3 this weekend
The Komets will be on the road for 3 games this weekend. Friday the Komets travel to Muskegon for a 7:30pm faceoff at Walker Arena. Saturday the Komets visit Kalamazoo at 7:30pm and Sunday the Komets complete the weekend at Port Huron for a 3pm matinee at McMorran Arena.

All 3 Komet games this weekend will be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190. All Komet games broadcast on the radio are also webcast free at www.komets.com Comcast KometCast.

Komets to return home for a double-header weekend starting Saturday Dec. 15....the Muskegon Fury visit for the next Komet home game Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7:30pm. It will be the 10th Komet home game of the season. The Komets currently own the best home record in the IHL at 6-2-1-0 after 9 games. Then Sunday, Dec. 16 the Bloomington PrairieThunder return for their third game on Fort Wayne ice at 5pm.

Project Komet Kare will continue on the weekend of Dec. 15 and 16. The Komets and FortWayne.com ask Komet fans again this holiday season to help support our troops by donating to Project Komet Kare Package 2. Special K's: The Komet's special teams scored 2 power play goals on 12 chances (16.7%) for the week and were successful on all but 2 of 13 penalty kills to improve to an IHL second-best 84.2% penalty kill rating.
