Komets week in review Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets completed week 5 of the 2007-08 IHL campaign taking all 3 games played for a 6-point week and moving into a first-place tie with Flint. The Komets are riding a 4-game win streak and are unbeaten (in regulation) in 7 straight games. The Komets also are enjoying a home undefeated streak of 5 games. -IHL Standings-Friday the Komets began a weekend home-and-home series with the franchise's 2100th regular season win clipping the Wings at Kalamazoo 3-2. Saturday the Komets swept the series with a 3-1 victory on Fort Wayne ice. Sunday the Komets completed the weekend by stopping the visiting Port Huron IceHawks 7-3. Komet's Thanksgiving tradition continues.....this week the Komets will host the IceHawks in the traditional Fort Wayne home Thanksgiving game at 7:30pm. It will be the 46th Komet home Thanksgiving game (28-14-3) since the tradition began Nov. 22, 1962. The Komets are undefeated on Thanksgiving at home the last 4 years. Friday the Komets will skate at Flint against the first-place rival Generals at 7:30pm. Saturday the Komets return home to host the Kalamazoo Wings at 7:30pm. Thursday's Thanksgiving game will be aired on WKJG/ESPN Radio AM 1380. Friday and Saturday's games will be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190. Streaking Komets......in addition to a 4-game win streak, 7-game unbeaten streak and a 5-game home undefeated streak, Matt Reynolds has points in each of his last 4 games (2g, 3a, 5pts) and Luciano Aquino (RW) is riding a 3-game point streak (3g, 4a, 7pts) after completing the week with points in each game played. Shafranov dishes 100th assist.....Konstantin Shafranov, appearing in his 4th overall season with the Komets, passed his 100th Komet assist Sunday against Port Huron. Warner nets first pro goal.....Fort Wayne native Brandon Warner scored his first pro goal in Sunday's 7-3 win over the visiting Port Huron IceHawks.
