The series will follow a 1-1-1-1-1-1-1 format with game 2 slated for Port Huron's McMorran Arena Saturday, May 3 at 7:30pm. Game 3 will be at Fort Wayne Sunday, May 4 at 6pm. Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7 in Port Huron at 7pm.

If necessary, game 5 will be in Fort Wayne Thursday, May 8 at 7:30pm, game 6 at Port Huron May 10 at 7:30pm and game 7 in Fort Wayne Monday, May 12 at 7:30pm.

The Komets eliminated the Muskegon Fury 4 games to 2 and Port Huron extinguished the Flint Generals 4 games to 1 in the first round to qualify for the finals.

During the regular season the Komets won their series with Port Huron 12-2-1 in 15 meetings. Fort Wayne finished the regular season winning the last 10 consecutive meetings with the Icehawks.

The Komets will be entering their 13th IHL Turner Cup Finals in 48 seasons in the IHL. Fort Wayne has previously won the Turner Cup Championship four times, the last being 1992-93.
