Fort Wayne, IN --- Week 13 of the 2007-08 IHL campaign will be remembered
as the week Kevin Reiter became the only goaltender in the 56-year history of
Fort Wayne Komet hockey to pitch three straight shutouts.
Reiter posted the shutouts as he was completing a stretch of eleven straight
starts in 17 nights. Reiter has registered exactly 180 consecutive shutout
minutes since leaving the game at Bloomington Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 6:19 of the
third period after surrendering a goal.
The Komets have not surrendered a goal for 187 minutes, 21 seconds. Goalies
Kevin St. Pierre and Kevin Kurk combined for the Komet's team record for
consecutive shutout minutes of 199:27 over a period of 5 games from Dec. 30,
2005 to Jan. 8, 2006.
The week started with a 5-4 setback at Bloomington Wednesday. Reiter and the
Komets started the shutout streak Friday with a 3-0 home win against Muskegon.
Saturday the Komets whitewashed the Wings at Kalamazoo 4-0 and Sunday the
visiting Port Huron IceHawks became the third straight shutout victim 3-0.
The Komets finished week 13 with an IHL-best 24-9-3-1 record for 52 points
and maintained a five-point margin over second-place Flint (19-6-3-6).

Komets home for 2 this week before the circus
The Komets will be home for two games this week before the break for the circus
at the coliseum. Wednesday the Flint Generals visit at 7:30pm for a battle
between the two top teams in the IHL. The Generals feature former Detroit Red
Wing star Darren McCarty. McCarty (RW) has skated 4 games with Flint scoring 2
goals and 2 assists. The Generals are unbeaten in regulation in their last 6
games (4-0-1-1). The Komets handed Flint their only regulation road loss of the
season in the last meeting Dec. 29 (9-1). In 13 road games, the Generals are
8-1-1-3 on the season.
Friday the Komets are home to Muskegon for an 8pm start. The Fury are 2-4-0-0 in
their last 6 games and are coming off a 4-3 overtime win over Flint Sunday.
Muskegon skates at Port Huron Wednesday before hosting the Komets Friday.
Saturday the Komets begin a four-game road swing at Port Huron at 7:30pm. The
IceHawks are on a three-game losing streak and will host Muskegon Wednesday and
Kalamazoo Friday before welcoming the Komets Saturday.

in Friday's 3-1 home win against Muskegon.....Sergei Durdin (D) registered his
100th pro North American point Saturday at Kalamazoo.
