Robbie Laird skated as
a Komet for 8 seasons
before coaching 4 
years.  Voted to 3 All 
Star Teams and 
coached a 2nd best
212 Komet wins.

George Drysdale  
(white) was the Komet's 
very first Captain.  
Drysdale also scored 
the Komet's very  first 
goal Oct. 28, 1952 vs 
the Grand Rapids 
Rockets.

Reno Zanier was the 
first Komet to win the IHL 
James Norris Memorial 
Trophy for 1959-60, 
awarded to the
goaltender having played 
a minimum of 25 games 
with the fewest goals 
against during the 
regular season.
 
2-time All Star 
defenseman Lionel 
Repka won 2 Turner 
Cups with the Komets 
during his 11 year 
career and had his #6 
retired in his honor.


Robbie Irons was the 
Komets goaltender
throughout the entire
decade of the 70's,
winning a championship
in 1973.  His #30 has
been retired in his honor.

All-Star Merv Dubchak 
was a member of the 
1964-65 Turner Cup 
Komets and scored a 
team record 72 goals 
during the 1965-66 
season.

GM & Head Coach Ken 
Ullyot guided the Komets 
to 3 Turner Cup 
Championships.  His 322
coaching wins and 568 
Komet games coached 
are still Fort Wayne 
records.
             
All Star goalie Chuck 
Adamson celebrates the 
winning of his 2nd 
Komet Turner Cup in 3 
seasons.  Adamson 
holds the Komet record 
of 41 wins in a season.
 

Colin Lister's tenure in the 
Komet front office as 
business manager and later 
part-owner spanned 4 
decades including the 50's, 
60's, 70's and 80's.


             
Con Madigan was a
colorful defenseman
for the Komets for 3
seasons 1959-1962
and later became the
NHL's oldest rookie
when he skated for
the Blues in 1968.

    
Center Wayne Ego
led the Komets to the
1972-73 Turner Cup
Championship with 65 
assists and 94 points
during the regular season.
          
Terry McDougall was
an All Star for 3 of
his 7 Komet seasons.
 
Jeff Ablett was a 
1972-73 Komet Turner
Cup Champion and 
skated 3 IHL
All Star Games.

Joe Kastelic skated for
the Komets 5 seasons
1953-57 & 1960-61.
 
Terry Thomson skated
defense for the Komets
6 seasons including the

Al Sims skated for the
Komets 1988-89 before
getting behind the bench
to be a Komet coach for
4 seasons including the
Turner Cup winning
season 1992-93.

Teddy Wright skated 6

Norm "Whiz" Waslawski
buzzed the wing with
the Komets 8 seasons
earning 2 Turner Cups

Reggie Primeau appeared
8 seasons in the 60's as
a Komet winnning 2
Turner Cups.
 
Ian Boyce wore a
Komets uniform for 7
seasons including the
Turner Cup Champ
1992-93 K's.
      
Russian skater 
Konstantin Shafranov
led the 95-96 IHL rookies 
and Komets with 46 goals
and won the IHL's Rookie of the Year Award. 

Fort Wayne native Colin
Chin skated 10 seasons
with the Komets 
1986-1996 making 2 All 
Star appearances.  
Member of the Komet's 
92-93 Turner Cup team 
and scored 100 points during 1993-94.
 
Wally Schreiber played 5 seasons with the Komets netting 226 goals and 400 points.  1983-84 All Star.

Goalie Darren Jensen and
center Doug Rigler shared 
Komet MVP honors for 
1983-84.
  

Jean-Marc Richard made 2 
All Star appearances and 
won the 92-93 Turner Cup 
with the Komets.

Mr Komet Eddie Long skated 
14 seasons as a Komet for 
a 2nd best 858 games.   
"Steady Eddy" won 2 
Turner Cup Championships 
and made 4 All Star 
appearances.  Eddie's  
number 16 is retired in his 
honor.
     
Al Dumba made 3 All Star appearances in 5 seasons with the Komets.
  
John Ferguson only skated 
1959-60 with the Komets 
but went on to win 2 
Stanley Cups with the 
Canadians and a great NHL 
career.
 
Defenseman Jim Burton 
holds the Komet record for 
most points by a D-man in a 
season with 94 in 1985-86.
 
Steve Salvucci skated 5 
seasons with the Komets 
winning the team scoring 
title with 39 goals and 86 
points during 1986-87.
      
Scott Gruhl won the 1992-93 
Turner Cup and made 2 All 
Star appearances with the 
Komets.

Carey Lucyk was known 
for his "stay at home" 
defensman style during his 
7 seasons spanning the 
80's and 90's including the 
92-93 Turner Cup year.
      
Ron Leef was a 6-year 
Komet scoring a team high 
57 goals and 120 points in 
1982-83 and was honored 
with an All Star appearance 
in 1983-84.

Center Art Stone played 6 
seasons, was an All Star in 1956-57,  and coached the 1961-62 Komet squad.  
(Played one game in goal in 
1955-56)

started  entertaining
Komet fans with the
1994-95 season and 
has made Fort Wayne
his home nest.
