Komets suffer first home loss of season

Fort Wayne, IN --- Nov. 20, 2009 --- The Komets suffered their first home loss
of the season Friday night 3-2 to the Muskegon Lumberjacks in front of a crowd
of 8,176. Leo Thomas (LW) scored the first tally of the match on the power play
at 45 seconds into the first period to give the Komets a 1-0 start. Muskegon's
John Dipace (LW) put the Jacks on the board with 51 seconds remaining in the
opening frame.
The Komets opened the second period with a Sean O'Connor (RW) power play goal at 1:11
for a 2-1 advantage only to be answered by Lumberjack Todd Robinson (C) at
7:31. Brian Bicek (LW) scored Muskegon's game winner at 14:50 of the third
and extended the Lumberjack's winning streak to seven games.
The Komets fall to 7-4-0-0 in 11 games while Muskegon pads their IHL lead over Bloomington
and Port Huron to three points improving to 10-3-0-1 for 21 points after 14
games.
Tim Haun took the loss in net for Fort Wayne, his third of the season, making 22
saves on 25 shots and had his win string snapped at three games. Muskegon's
Sebastien Centomo improves to 7-3-0-1 with his fifth straight win stopping 24 of
26 Komet shots.
The Komets travel to Illinois for games at Bloomington Saturday night at 8:05
(FW time) and at Quad City Sunday at 5:05pm (FW time). Saturday's game at
Bloomington will be broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 and Sunday's match in Quad
City will be aired on ESPN Radio AM 1380 with Bob Chase radio-rinkside.

The next Komet home game will be the traditional Fort Wayne Thanksgiving night
game Thursday at 7:30 against the Flint Generals.
